Women, prepare to feel utterly let down by society – Morrisons is launching a World Cup 2014-themed bouquet of flowers.

Gone are the days where you’d be treated to a freshly picked bunch of daffodils and roses. Now you’re more likely to get this read and white horror, complete with a little plastic football.

Now, is it just us, or would you consider breaking up with a man who tried to woo you with these?

The football flowers are released nationwide on June 15 – the day after England’s first match against Italy – and also feature a charming ‘Come On England’ wrapper.

Maybe you can serve said wrapper as your boyfriend’s dinner after you’ve shoved the flowers somewhere that the sun don’t shine.

Romelu Lukaku insists he wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea despite the Blues reportedly planning to overhaul their attacking options this summer.

The Belgian international has spent the past two seasons on loan with West Brom and Everton respectively but is due to return to Stamford Bridge after the World Cup.

Speculation has been mounting in recent months over the future of the 21-year-old, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reportedly not particularly keen on the youngster.

However Lukaku insists he has no plans to quit west London and wants to prove he can cut it at Stamford Bridge.

‘It would be nice to get clarity beforehand, but that will not happen, so I’m completely focused on the World Cup,’ Lukaku told Het Nieuwsblad.

Family attacked by swarm of bees in Beeville

Metro

bees.jpg bees attack family http://www.kiiitv.com/story/25656043/large-swarm-of-bees-attacks-family-in-beeville Presented without comment (Picture: KiiiTV)

It’s unclear if the attack was pre-meditated for headline purposes.

The Cantu family probably should have thought about bee attacks before moving to Beeville, in Bee County, Texas, but then that’s the sort of cavalier, devil-may-care attitude you’d expect from people who choose to live in such ominously named areas.

Richard Cantu was clearing brush from his tractor when the bees attacked, stinging him, his son and his grandson. 15 firefighters and nine police officers had to be called to calm the situation.

Speaking to KiiiTV, Beeville Police Sergeant Greg Baron claimed it was ‘the largest bee swarm I have ever seen’, which is really saying something.

Top tip: Never visit Beeville.

Manchester United are ready to outbid Real Madrid with a £65million move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to Spanish reports.

Barcelona-based newspaper Sport claims United have handed incoming boss Louis van Gaal £200m to re-vamp and bolster the squad ahead of next season, and the Dutchman is keen on teaming Suarez up with Robin van Persie at Old Trafford.

With European Champions Real Madrid also interested in taking the Uruguayan to Spain this summer, reports claim that Van Gaal is ready to gazump Los Blancos by £15m to land last season’s Premier League top scorer.

Suarez signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Liverpool in December before his 31 goals in 33 appearances took the club to the brink of winning their first Premier League title in 24 years.

And while the Reds would never entertain the idea of selling their star striker to United, Sport speculates that…
