Why mocking Arsenal fans for celebrating their FA Cup triumph is just embarrassing

Arsenal haven’t won a trophy in nine years. Haven’t you heard?

I am, of course, being obtuse. It’s impossible for anyone to mention Arsenal without stating how long it’s been since they’ve won a trophy, it’s like a law or something.

On Saturday, when Arsenal defeated Wigan on penalties to reach the FA Cup final, a certain set of opposition fans [United, Chelsea and Liverpool, not Wigan it should be noted] as well as parts of the media said we should be embarrassed that we needed penalties to beat a Championship side. That we should be embarrassed about celebrating beating Wigan to reach the FA Cup final.

Really? Would you be if it was your club?
