There are a few things that remind those of us of a certain age what it was like to be young.

One is the fabulous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game. Another is the Wham bar. And the holy trinity of late 80s/early 90s glory is completed by one man: The Ultimate Warrior.

The news of the death of the man formerly known as James Brian Hellwig will have come as a shock to anyone who hurled themselves off an imaginary top rope on to their parents’ double bed.

Shocking because The Ultimate Warrior was just 54 years old. Shocking because he had given fans of WWF – as it was before it became WWE – so many exciting moments. Shocking because the Warrior actually had a normal name at one point (he changed it legally to ‘The Ultimate Warrior’ in 1993). Here…
