Chelsea easily wiped aside their London rivals Arsenal as they cemented their place at the top of the Premier League. Although this was Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge of the Gunners, the match it self is surely one he will wish to forget.
Thrashed 6-0 with absolutely no positives to take away, this clash between the two giants all but confirmed that Chelsea are the superior ones of the capital and are likely to be for a long time to come.
With two footballing elites on show many would have expected the game to be close, especially considering the fact that two of the best defences in the league were on display. Arguably the result might have been different if Kieran Gibbs wasn’t sent off for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s handball in a bizarre moment.
