Everton fans have reacted with frustration after Arsenal cut their allocation for next month’s FA Cup quarter-final and the Gunners risk penalising their own supporters as a result.
Under FA Cup rules away supporters are entitled up to 15 per cent of the capacity of the stadium, in the case of the Emirates that equates to 9,000 tickets.
Sadly for Everton supporters they will have to fight over a little over 5,200 after the ‘Arsenal Safety Advisory Group’ chose to slash their entitlement for the game on March 8.
ASAG – comprised of representatives from the club, Islington Council, police and transport authorities – say the decision was made due to issues of persistent standing and the use of pyrotechnics in the upper tiers.
