The 67th annual BAFTAs take place in London tonight, celebrating the best in film from the past 12 months.

While the British Academy of Film and Television Awards are seen as the best indicator for who will win what at the all-important Oscars, they do sometimes get things wrong.

Stunning performances are overlooked in favour of the mediocre, ‘best sound’ can be awarded to films with awful singing, and sometimes it looks like the Academy bends the rules to benefit a specific cause.

With these variables (and more!) in mind, we have trawled back through the most recent years of BAFTA to question whether the best man/woman/animated character won in the past….
