Chris Brown has been spared jail despite the District Attorney in America branding him ‘an increasingly violent danger to society’.

The Fine China singer, 24, was in court in relation to allegations of assaulting a man in a Washington DC club in November – and is still on probation for beating Rihanna on the eve of the Grammy awards in 2009.

Appearing at a progress hearing in a courthouse in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, Judge James R. Brandlin spared the singer jail on the condition he continues with a rehabilitation programme to address his anger issues.

The prosecution, led by deputy district attorney Mary Murray urged the court to lock up Brown, stating ‘he continues to pose an increasingly violent danger to society’ and releasing details of an incident where the singer threw a brick through his mother’s car window after a heated argument.
