Could Arsene Wenger’s stubbornness cost Arsenal dear again?

I just pray not


Reports that Arsenal failed with bids for multiple players on deadline day including the likes of ex-Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou, Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse and even Lazio hitman, the ageing Miroslav Klose will be a little bittersweet for Gunners fans.

It is well documented that they are in need of another proven goalscorer but whether the aforementioned are exactly the calibre to match the ambitions of Arsène Wenger as he pursues the Club’s first League title since 2004, I’m not so sure.

With the previous transfer window bringing World-Class German genius, Mesut Ozil, you could forgive fans for expecting a bigger name to come in.

The problem that faces Arsenal, like all other clubs in January, is that ambitious clubs simply don’t want to sell their top players during the season and it may be difficult to find a player of the required quality that won’t end up being cup-tied…
